Rev. Craig A. Mathews

Rev. Craig Alonzo Mathews is currently a resident of Jeanerette, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana (Four Corners/Sorrell area) where he grew up and graduated from Franklin Senior High School. He attended Grambling State University from the Fall 1990 to Spring 1994 where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing. Rev. Mathews is currently pursuing his MBA (Master of Business Administration) Degree, with future plans to attend Southern University Law School. He previously served for a combined 15 years as Youth Pastor at Zion Hill Christian Fellowship of New Iberia, Louisiana, and St. Moses Baptist Church of Sorrell, Louisiana. In September 2015 he was appointed Senior Pastor at Hubbard United Church of Christ in Gueydan, Louisiana.  

In October 2007, Rev. Mathews successfully campaigned and was elected to serve his first four-year term as the District 1 Representative on the St. Mary Parish Council. He was recently re-elected to serve District 1 in November 2015. Additionally, he is Owner/Proprietor of a private consulting firm known as Mathews Program Research & Development, LLC through which he assists numerous churches, community-based organizations and private corporations in their corporate and financial development endeavors. Other professional interests include Co-Founder/COO of PediaKare De’ Louisiana, LLC, a Pediatric Day Health Center company operating two facilities in South Louisiana. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in business management and program development from the for-profit, nonprofit, public and private sectors. He has traveled the nation providing various expert trainings, workshops and seminars to other professionals and religious leaders.   

Lastly, Rev. Mathews is married to the former Christine Renee Charles, and together they have three handsome sons, Travis Deon (27), Trayvonne Alonzo (21), and Tyrell Craig Mathews (12).  He enjoys spending quality family time and sees this as the value of hard work and leads his family and community by the example that self-determination, perseverance and a healthy self-esteem are essentials to success and happiness.  He seeks to inspire others by allowing his life to be a testament of faith that anyone can defy the odds of life and realize astonishing achievements.
